Robert Walker Taylor
b. 8 December 1840, d. 5 February 1902
Pop-up Pedigree
- Note: Robert Walker Taylor; he was born on his father's farm. He had agricultural training and an extensive education. He attended the Military Institute at Franfort, Ky. At the beginning of the Civil War he enlisted in the Kentucky Cavalry Army along with his cousin Richard Hawes. While taking part in a raid they were captured and became prisons of war. They were sent to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois for the remainder of the war.
After returning home from the war, he married Mary Chichester Martin, 1872. They located their home and farm at Iceland Landing, on the Ohio River.
His health began to decline in 1900, and he died while under treatment at an infirmary in Louisville, Ky.
